Meloneras beach
Situated in the south of Gran Canaria, next to Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas, Meloneras is a very elegant holiday resort and without doubt the most luxurious resort town in Gran Canaria. Nowhere else are the hotels so extravagant, the boulevard so beautiful and the cars so expensive.
The best location has the 5-star Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and with only a few hundred meters to the amazing beach in Maspalomas. The hotel has several large pool areas, one even with an artificial beach – and all the luxury you can imagine.
Meloneras beach in general
Most tourists staying in Meloneras takes advantage of the nearby beach in Maspalomas. A unique beach backed by the Maspalomas desert and within walking distance of most Meloneras hotels.
Meloneras also has its own beach, Playa de las Meloneras, located in the western part of the resort. Playa de las Meloneras is a large sandy beach with facilities like sun loungers, umbrellas, showers and toilets. During the high season lifeguards are overseeing the swimmers.
Behind the beach lies the beautiful beach promenade Paseo de las Meloneras with a good selection of restaurants, cafés, and tourist shops. The promenade continues all the way to the lighthouse in Maspalomas. A very nice walk along the coast with a view of the Atlantic Ocean.
Child-friendliness
The large sandy beach has plenty of space for playing, including ball games. However, a lot of small stones at the water’s edge makes the beach in Maspalomas a better choice for families with children.
Water sport activities
There are no water sports activities on the beach in Meloneras.

On the beach promenade, there are several cafés and restaurants. You can also order sandwiches etc. as take away.
The holiday resort Meloneras
Meloneras has become the most exclusive holiday resort in Gran Canaria. Meloneras boasts many luxurious hotels, fine restaurants, designer boutiques and even a large casino.
In the vicinity of Meloneras, there are several attractions, including Maspalomas Dunes, Aqualand, and Holiday World. Meloneras is even the perfect choice for golf enthusiasts, as it boasts two golf courses within a few kilometers and a third golf course is only 10 km away.
